Short Review: SHUT IN

Short Review: SHUT IN

Isolation is no stranger to people these days. With the ongoing pandemic, people all over the world are feeling lonelier than ever. Now, what if someone made a game that explores depression and isolation by trapping you inside your own house. Battling depression myself, I thought I’d try out SHUT IN, a dark comedy/psychological horror adventure because honestly, what is life without a little bit of fun psychological horror, right?

We played SHUT IN for almost 2 hours on PC.

I ended up quite enjoying SHUT IN. The graphics are simple, but the gameplay is fun. There are a dozen ways you can die, and after a while, it becomes pretty obvious when you’ll die. I knew I shouldn’t pick some options, but I still did for some reason (probably because of self-sabotaging that I tend to do, this game is getting very similar to real-life man). The puzzles are not too hard, they’re keeping you on your toes while not demanding too much, you know. I also loved the narrator, who was annoying as fuck and kind of rude. He did give me the option to stay in bed the whole freaking time as well, so that was great. Keep in mind that SHUT IN is a very short game and it won’t take more than two hours to discover everything. I do feel like this was the perfect length for this game.

You’ll have a good laugh with this game, and I can definitely recommend it for the pricetag (€ 4). You’ll have a short, but fun and interesting experience, I promise!
