Review | Energy Cycle Edge.

LifeisXbox’s Energy Cycle Edge review | Energy Cycle Edge is the successor to the puzzle game that is called Energy Cycle. Edge brings us more of… The same honestly. Just different shapes. The premise is simple, match every object with one color of your choice. Sometimes You brings us exactly more of what they already know to be a success … But only towards a select audience. Want to find out more? Then prepare yourself for this short review of… Energy Cycle Edge!

This is a short review, our usual the good, mixed and the bad was difficult because of the nature of this game. We played Energy Cycle Edge for 2 hours on Xbox Series X. This game is also available on Playstation and Switch.

Honestly? There isn’t much to even talk about here. The premise is simple. You are offered a puzzle that consists out of 3 base colors. Red, Green, and Blue. It is your task to change every object in the puzzle to one consistent color. Which one? For you to choose. I went for the one that was predominantly available at the start of the puzzle. The game has an increasingly more complex difficulty scale built into itself, spread across a few different shapes. The first level exists with only one plane of existence. The further you get down the line, the more complex patterns will form. Eventually ending at a Rubik’s cube shape. Where you’ll have to think in 3D space instead of just 2D. Which is fun… If it were not excruciatingly annoying. If you change color on one pane and you didn’t pay attention to the fact that the pane that is in front of you was connected by a line that is suspended in the 3D space behind it? You could set yourself back even further, having you hitting the restart button more often than you would blink during the entire day. Completed the puzzle? Congrats, you get a picture shown of a busty madame that serves no other purpose than a shortly timed eye candy before you go into your next puzzle. Yay?

If you’re looking for something that will test your intellect, sanity, and spatial view? Then Sometimes You has got you covered. With Energy Cycle edge you’ll have everything stress-tested in every way, shape, or form… Rubik’s form. Hé hé.
