REVIEW | A Building Full of Cats (Tidbit-style)

We love all sorts of games. Sometimes it is hard to cover a game in our traditional review style that’s why we have tidbit-style reviews. These shorter reviews cover games that deserve attention but don’t fit our good, mixed, and bad templates. In addition, they get a monthly summary article to give them even more reader attention!

A Building Full of Cats is a hidden object or rather hidden cats game. Your only goal is to find more than 300 cats in a five-floor apartment building. Each floor has 50 hidden cats, immediately obvious in plain sight or in a picture frame as hard to find as a ladybug on a giant red rose bush. There are cats hidden behind interactable objects, closed closets, shower curtains or behind pillows. They have a different colour when you find them and they also have a unique tracker. I’m not a fan of interactable objects as you never know which one will open or what object will do something, so I was basically clicking on every single thing. Still, you get a little rush of dopamine when you click on such a movable object and see the animation.

The price is around €2, in return you get five floors and a basement level. It is a very short game but you get value for your money. Each floor has a different theme and lots of attention went into the visual design. My girlfriend and I had a blast searching for all the cute cats and tried not to use the hint option. It can become a bit annoying to find the last cats and that said hint mechanic isn’t really much help. You can only use it one time on each floor…so good luck finding all the needles in the haystack! I really like this kind of game. They are hardly found on our Xbox console so this cat game is really a pleasant surprise. Like a laser light for our faithful pets! Without a doubt an experience that everyone will find enjoyable.
