Insanity, Thy name is Everhood 2. This game is so weird, so bizarre, and yet so much fun to play through. I can’t remember the last time I was this confused playing a game while the whole time being entranced by it, and yet, Everhood 2 can sometimes feel like a reality-bending quest inside your own mind… make sense? I don’t fully get it either, but I do know that I enjoyed the journey. If you enjoy games like UNDERTALE with combat being geared sort of towards Guitar Hero-like games, then this might just be the game for you. Oh, and don’t think you can win by hitting all the notes; it’s just a wee bit more complicated than that. Well, you’ll learn soon enough; just talk to the raven.

Things I liked!
- The story | I really don’t want to get into the finer points of the storyline; just know that it’s going to take you to places in your head that you might never have thought of going. Sometimes, though, it can get a bit on the heavy side, but just go with it and let the game take you where you need to go.
- Graphics | Simple yet effective is the key to this game’s charm; you don’t need to be looking at hyperrealism all the time to enjoy a game; just take it for what it is and check out the awesome pixel art as you play.
- Length | This is by no means a short game; in fact, I’m still playing through a rather large chunk of it in my second playthrough. You are going to be at this wee game for a good few hours at least.
- Combat | The combat in this game is insane; like I mentioned earlier, it’s got a Guitar Hero-style vibe to it, but instead of hitting all the notes, you have to dodge and weave through some while collecting and absorbing others in a certain order in order to unleash devastating blows that, if you are lucky, can one-hit kill even the toughest bosses..
Mixed & disliked!
- Minor Point | The game can get a bit heavy with certain subjects pertaining to self-harm and depression, but you can choose to skip those questions if you so choose.
CONCLUSION
Score: 79/100 – A fun game that will entertain the RPG and UNDERTALE fans out there, but it’s not going to be for everyone; there are some heavy themes mixed in with the fun gameplay that might trigger some people, so fair warning. All in all, though, I enjoyed playing it, and as mentioned, I am moving on to my second playthrough, where I am going to take my time a little more and explore the finer points of the lore. An enjoyable but insane game.
I’m just a tall bearded bald Scotsman who loves games of every type. I’m a voice actor as well and have been for a few years now. I have an odd sense of humour.
