In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the time we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Robby (BloodyGoodReviews) | I played some Call of Duty: Vanguard on Friday as I wanted to beat the single-player campaign over the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised with the action-filled levels and cinematic moments, short but powerful title, but if you’re not into the multiplayer, the campaign alone is not enough to warrant the asking price. Then I received a nice surprise on Saturday: “You’re invited to participate in the Elden Ring Network Test”. I was super happy to receive this code because I’ve only seen great things from these souls like by the masters themselves. And this FromSoftware gem does not disappoint. The test area is huge and has a ton of bosses to defeat and hidden places to explore. It looks fantastic, has an amazing soundtrack and plays like a dream. I’ve got a strong feeling this will be a top contender for Game of the Year 2022. What little free time I had left, I spent playing Riders Republic. I want to clean up some final achievements before I uninstall the title and shift my racing focus to Forza Horizon 5.
Aaron | This weekend I decided to spend my entire Friday night awake finishing Call of Duty Vanguard in one sitting. The game had me hooked from the very beginning and personally feel it is one of (if not the best) openings in the franchise. The dial is immediately turned up to 11 with a double train hijack and a fight that immediately left me wanting more. The whole campaign took me about 6 hours which isn’t bad for call of duty games. I didn’t get to play any of the multilayer modes or zombies as I caught up with some work, but needless to say, I was quite impressed overall with the level of quality in this year’s offering. Also, just to note, I played on PC and the install size is greatly reduced this year from 110GB to only 50GB!
VicciVulpix | I’ve played multiple games this over the weekend. I’ll start with Book of Unwritten Tales 2 which I found to be really relaxed and enjoyable. I had claimed it in the past with Games with Gold and can certainly say if it’s in your library, it certainly deserves to be played. I also played one of my review games called Shinrai – Broken Beyond Despair; another interactive visual novel that certainly has a story to tell. Definitely one that has multiple twists that make you contemplate all your choices so look out for that soon. I’ve been very involved playing Pokemon GO again too, trying to complete challenges and catch new pokemon where I can. SMITE was also on the agenda with some conquest games, all of which went surprisingly well. I started Kill it with Fire, because I hate spiders, and Mass Effect Andromeda since I realised It has an entirely different story from the previous. I will be returning to these over the course of the week!
Maui | I had an extra-long weekend so it was extra pretty busy, game-wise and nongame related! First and foremost, I got to participate in the Elden Ring network test, and damn I cannot wait for this game to be fully released! I absolutely loved the few hours I got to spend with this magnificent game. A preview will be up today as well, so be sure to check that out!I also played a little Just Dance 2022, a game that honestly never gets old. Unfortunately, my time with it got cut short as I got a new tattoo and my arm still hurts from it, and my dance partner a.k.a. boyfriend hurt his knees, so I put my dancing moves on hold for a few days. Can’t wait to get back to it though! Lastly, I continued my adventures in Tunche, a charming, hand-drawn beat’em up hack and slash game with roguelike elements. I am really digging this game so far as it’s totally up my alley and it just looks stunning.
Orange Spark | This extended weekend I was on a trip to Berlin with my mother. While I was mainly using my (mini)map reading skills while seeing the sights and fast travelling between monuments, I managed to sneak some Ni No Kuni in on my Nintendo Switch Lite. Glad I snapped that up when it was on sale some months ago because this Studio Ghibli styled game is such a blast to play. Really love the pacing. The story beats don’t feel dull or long-winded, yet it’s not so fast that it feels like they just throw everything at you at once. I’m writing this on the train home, so my Sunday evening is up in the air between some games or binging Arcane, that Netflix show people just won’t be quiet about. The one that’s not squid game. Tomorrow will be an exciting day, as Shin Megami Tensei V will finally release. I’ve been itching to get back into that franchise since I finished up Persona 4 Golden earlier this year.
Colombo | This weekend I played the usual Microsoft Solitaire Collection while listening to music but I also varied quite a bit. Played Circa Infinity for an upcoming review, I’m having a lot of difficulty with this one. Finished Unpacking and found it to be quite a pleasant experience, organizing stuff feels nice. Also played Enter the Gungeon to complete a game pass quest, this game is one of the best Roguelikes out there, definitely recommend giving it a shot. Finally, started playing The Forgotten City which so far seems pretty interesting, I like mysteries, and this game is all about solving a big one, so it did grab me very quickly.
Bradley Delaere | Saturday I spent the whole day playing Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, it was its third anniversary, so what better way to celebrate it by revisiting the game once more! On Sunday I played Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) for the first time. I actually didn’t expect there to be a campaign, but I’m currently playing through that before I’m getting into its multiplayer. I have also played the game Zedfest so I can write a preview for it in the next few days. Despite this game not being fully released yet, there were a few people playing online which was great!
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
