Time to look back on the weekend! What did Friday, Saturday, and Sunday look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from last week and what are we looking forward to? These three questions will be answered in our Eyes on the Week(end) article!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I started off my weekend scrolling through Xbox Games Pass and decided to play Tunic; a somewhat recent release that focuses on the adventure of a fox character. So far I’m yet to make large amounts of progress but I did get scared by mass-murdering huge spiders which I will safely admit made me want to retreat and never enter THAT area ever again. I’m positive I will be returning though as it seemed like a game I would want to get further involved in. Played a handful of games in SMITE on Saturday but as the servers were having major issues, I didn’t stay on for very long. On Sunday, I then decided to smash my 300K gamerscore target which I made even with the odd achievements in Aaero and Energy Cycle and then I proceeded to complete Tony and Clyde to reach my precise goal – Now onto the next milestone! Finally, I and Lewis started Back4Blood because who doesn’t like battering and fighting their way through large quantities of zombies?! Something co-op that we can jump into whenever and play casually (until the harder difficulties creep up on us inevitably).
Most exciting news of last week: Nothing has noticeably caught my eye recently.
Looking forward to playing this week: Looking forward to continuing more Back4Blood, completing Contrast, getting a few matches in SMITE, and knuckling down with review titles with me being in productive mood.

Not much was played this weekend as my attention was needed elsewhere, I did squeeze in some Weird West and absolutely loved it. everything else was work, work work and a few beers.
Most exciting news of last week: We finally have a release date for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, it is hitting Xbox exclusively on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Looking forward to playing this week: More Weird West would be nice but I have to hurry up with a few reviews so I don’t think I will have the time.

It was a rather quiet weekend game-wise. I basically only played a little game called Jump Challenge! on my laptop. I wasn’t too sure about this one at first, but I have to admit that it is rather addictive once you’re in it. The randomness of the game is a bit of a bummer, but more about that later in my review!
The rest of the weekend was spent spending time with my boyfriend and of course, going to FACTS on Sunday. We spent all day there and I had a blast. For some reason, I always forget how happy these geeky conventions make me. There is just something magical about seeing all those wonderful cosplayers, meeting actors you’ve looked up to for so long, and leaving your worries behind for a day. I honestly cannot wait for next year’s edition.
Most exciting news of last week: I’m afraid I have to agree with Vicci and say that nothing caught my eye!
Looking forward to playing this week: Hopefully some more No Place Like Home and besides that I’m not sure yet. It’s a pretty busy week and I started the week sick so I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to game.

I didn’t have a lot of time to play my own games because I want to FACTS on Saturday, but I did finally get a chance to play Space Control VR, a Papers Please like game with Rick and Morty style humor. But the demo this time was just some space shooting action, good for an event like FACTS, but probably not ideal to get the final product across to a new audience. I didn’t have any time to continue with Elden Ring and for my daily achievement, I played Ball Lab on the Xbox. Totally not worth your time and money, but easy gamerscore for the daily Microsoft Rewards. I spent most of my time with Kirby and the Forgotten Land again. What a wonderful title full of feel-good moments, and it’s a dream for completionists like me with the right amount of challenge. (starts easy, but the final % is a bit harder)
Most exciting news of last week: Level Up was formally announced at FACTS, a new gaming hub in Flanders, funded by the government. I hope it will help boost our industry.
Looking forward to playing this week: Weirdly, looking forward to getting back to Elden Ring now that I’ve skipped it for a week. I really want to see this through.

This weekend I spent most of my time playing Arizona Sunshine with my brother. It’s a great VR zombie shooter with lots of weapons and a fairly decent campaign. This was especially fun since I had never played it in multiplayer before. I had given him my Oculus CV1 since I now use the Quest 2. After this, I spent some time checking out Half-Life Alyx mods where you play as a Hitman. The modding community have really been blowing my mind lately with all the cool stuff they can do with games, not to mention they are free also. Sunday I spent some time playing Dead Man’s Diary which is a review title, so stay on the lookout for that. I ended the weekend play session by playing some Boneoworks VR, which is a title that really tries to let you do everything and anything in the world of VR. I may or may not have put myself into a cannon and fired it so I went across the map.
Most exciting news of last week: Sony announced their “meh” Games Pass competitor with the tiers representing what you can get each month. I can see some people loving it, especially with the backwards compatibility stuff, but if you are like me and still keep all your retro stuff lying around, what’s the point?
Looking forward to playing this week: Ghostwire Tokyo. I only played the intro section so far, but with the Easter break in full swing and no early morning school runs to do, I’ll be taking full advantage of late nights to explore every avenue of this amazing looking game.

This weekend I didn’t spend as much time gaming as I’d have liked to, because of visiting my grandma and watching The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King Extended Edition, which so far is the longest movie I’ve ever watched in my life, it was worth it though. I did manage to play a few hours of Far: Changing Tides which so far has been pretty good and interesting, even though I haven’t played the first one yet. I also played a few matches of Call of Duty Vanguard‘s multiplayer since there is a free trial of it happening right now, it’s not amazing by any means but it scratches the itch for playing COD just fine.
Most exciting news of last week: Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe getting a release date and Weird West finally releasing.
Looking forward to playing this week: A game I’m going to review as soon as I can which I’m not sure if I should talk about or not, some COD Vanguard multiplayer and finish Far: Changing Tides.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
