Eyes on the Week (9th-13th December)

It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Another week but still the same as recently. Yes, you guessed it. Genshin Impact has quite literally made an impact once again and I can’t get enough of it! I’ve progressed to Adventurer Rank 43 and I’m currently making my way through Act III: Chapter IV which has me exploring the desert area. Not my favourite area in the game but I like the characters I’m working with so that makes up for it. I have a soft spot for Xiangling and Dehya right now. Just gotta keep up with my dailies and build up my team at every chance I get!

Most interesting news of this week: It has to be the many awards and announcements we got to witness at The Game Awards. The games that caught my attention were – Rematch, Split Fiction, Borderlands 4 and Dungeon Fighter Arad. I still pray for the day Jak & Daxter gets revived by Naughty Dog.

Looking forward to playing: Genshin Impact, Phasmophobia and perhaps the Bone Chill event in Dead by Daylight.

Been completely hooked on Roguebook again and play about 2 hours per day 😄 It’s a really great deckbuilding roguelike that just keeps on giving. However, I’ve heard some achievements are bugged which makes the 1000G impossible to get right now 😞

If I have some minutes left before I have to go to bed, I play a round of Vampire Survivors (base game, I haven’t even gotten to the DLC yet) but finally managed to beat a few rounds. (On my first attempts, I ended up dying before the 30 minutes were up)

I’ve also been playing a game from a client that I can’t talk about for another week. So stay posted and maybe next week I’ll lift the veil. The only thing I can spoil already is that we won’t have an Xbox release for that one 😞

Most interesting news of this week: Okami getting a sequel and that new mech game from the team behind Shadow of the Colossus was pretty cool at The Game Awards.

Looking forward to playing: Spirit of the Samurai. A stop-motion metroidvania that looks truly unique.

Colombo

I’m still playing Persona 3 ReloadCall of Duty Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. I also played a little bit of Marvel Rivals and thought it felt somewhat like Smite.

Most interesting news of this week: The many announcements that happened at The Game Awards, such as Project Century, which looks like Sleeping Dogs set in 1915’s Japan, an Okami sequel, a new Onumisha, a new game from the Shadow of the Colossus creator and many others.

Looking forward to playing: More Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Persona 3 Reload and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

I had a busy week, and next week will even be crazier, so I started this week with Nonogram Animals. I love picross/nonogram games as they allow me to turn a part of my brain off while also keeping my brain occupied.

After that, I started with Garden Trills, a wholesome beautiful puzzle platformer adventure in which you play a young bird who is exploring her new neighbourhood where she just moved in. The game is just great!

And the last thing I have been playing this week a lot is Gacha Fever. A bullet heaven game with loads of characters and things to unlock. A very addictive game.

Most interesting news of this week: This was a week full of amazing announcements. Earlier this week was a new Wholesome Games showcase and I’m so hyped for so many games that were announced like a new Duck Detective game, as well as Wylde Society. And what to think about Piece by Piece and TOEM 2.

Looking forward to playing: Naiad, Stars in the Trash & On Your Tail.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered has taken up most of my game time this week. Be on the lookout for my review which is coming very soon.

I’ve also played some Vampire Survivors, I’ve recently picked up some of the latest DLC which is great fun, I still have so much to do.

Other games I’ve played are Hidden Cats in Santa’s Realm and Worms W.M.D with a friend.

Most interesting news of this week: The first trailer for The Witcher 4 has just been shown at The Game Awards and looks incredible.

Looking forward to playing: Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, The Mortuary Assistant and more Vampire Survivors.
