Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve been rather up and down this week with my mood which has affected my enjoyment of gaming. I did continue with The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series but as I’m saving the final season for when I’m with Lewis again, I went through and completed Michonne. I forgot most of the story and enjoyed replaying it, especially when I heard the music at the beginning of each chapter.
Otherwise, any other time I’ve spent gaming has been dedicated to GTA V. Me and Lewis have done multiple heists together which I’ve found fun to learn. I have also started my Clubhouse, Nightclub, Autoshop, and Snow businesses (Yes, snow is a PG codename) which I’m gradually getting the hang of running. I forget to resupply and earn some money back from VIP work but I’m hoping it’ll become second nature over time. I’m still obsessed with making new outfits and love all the combinations available – even if it keeps removing my parachute and hats randomly at times. I did win the casino car yesterday but, if I’m honest, I would rather have won RP (Reputation) because it looks god-awful and drives terribly.
Most exciting news of this week: After many lengthy delays, Starfield has got a supposed release date of September 6th 2023. I’m hopeful this will stick in stone and we can finally experience the masterpiece the majority of us are expecting. I’m also interested in Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened being released in April. Detective games always seem to call out to me; something immersive and different.
Looking forward to playing: GTA V, Chained Echoes, and Akka Arrh.

Friday again! The week was carried by the Flash. Most of my gaming time went into Guilty Gear Strive, a gorgeous fighting game with a lot of depth. I also finished a few games – Sissa’s Path, Redress of Mira, and Spongebob Cosmic Shake.
Most exciting news of this week: I was shocked by how bad everything looks about The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, that latest gameplay was awful. I hope I’m wrong as I love the Lord of the Rings IP but this is going to be a massive fail.
Looking forward to playing: Going to play Everdell (a board game) for the first time. Not a single Xbox game can match my hype for that 🙂

Putting the finishing touches on our new bedroom/office space has been the main focus of the past week, with free hours spent in the crawlspaces of the attic so all the wiring works as it should. That also meant I could finally finish up my review of the BenQ TH575 projector I was able to test and let’s just say I was very impressed. You can read the review HERE.
I also spent some time with Wo Long, the latest souls-like by Team Ninja and because everyone told me the first boss is so difficult, I haven’t even faced it yet and just spent an hour levelling against random mobs. Probably not the way it was meant to be played, but I prefer to go in prepared!
The majority of my playtime was spent with Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe, however. It’s such a feel-good easy game, the polar opposite of the previous game I mentioned. and it’s giving me flashbacks to when I played Kirby and the Forgotten Land right after beating Elden Ring last year. Funny how history repeats. You can check my review of Kirby’s latest adventure HERE.
Most exciting news of this week: Starfield getting a September release date. Honestly, I don’t mind. I have a huge enough backlog as it is and for all I care, all games can be postponed by a few months to give me some breathing room.
Looking forward to playing: More Wo Long, going to face that boss tonight and he’s going down!

After finally finishing and even getting all achievements on Persona 5 Royal, I started playing Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered on Sunday, and I really liked how it looks, plays, and sounds. The story seems to be pretty interesting as well.
I’ve also started playing Mayhem in Single Valley for an upcoming review of its Xbox One version, it seems pretty chaotic so far (in a good way), you can read our PC review of it HERE.
Most exciting news of this week: Sony refusing to accept any kind of agreement with the ABK merger and even going as far as saying it just wants to block it is pretty ridiculous. Also, Starfield finally getting a release date is exciting.
Looking forward to playing: More Mayhem in Single Valley and Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch.

That’s another week huh? Well, I’ve kept busy as always. The bulk of this week I’ve spent playing and writing my review for WILD HEARTS. That should be live around or shortly after you’re reading this, so be sure to check it out.
When I wasn’t hunting kemono and constructing Karakuri, I was trying out extreme trials or savage raids here and there in Final Fantasy XIV for mounts and crafting materials. I’ve managed to triple the amount of gil to my name in the last two weeks, so I’d say it’s working.
Lastly, I also binged the anime “Eminence in Shadow”. This isekai takes all the cringey tropes, dials them up to 11 and then somehow makes it unabashedly enjoyable.
Most exciting news of this week: Good news everyone, Starfield has a release date! 09/06/23. Bad news: it’s the American date format, so you won’t be enjoying it over the summer holiday.
Looking forward to playing: I’ve not got anything lined up per sé, but I think I’ll go see if I have a high enough master rank to hunt Velkhana in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.

I have been AFK for the past few weeks. Struggling with my health and with work while not finding a way to calm my mind and not being able to enjoy gaming. Gladly this week it seems I enjoyed gaming more again, but still struggling a bit.
I have been playing a few games, I just finished WW2 Rebuilder, which was such an impressive game. It has some weird glitches but cleaning up areas after the war, while also seeing fragments of how it would have been during the war was so immersive, especially with the war in Ukraine going on for over a year now, this hit more home than it would have been otherwise.
Another game that I have been playing this week is Nomad survivor. This is in the same genre as Vampire survivor, and while I have been playing quite a lot of games in the bullet heaven genre, none felt so addictive as VS. This one still isn’t but it comes really close. It doesn’t much different except that you can have all the weapons and passive abilities, but you’re limited by the number of levels you get in each run. It has different classes and builds that feel a lot different from each other and it has fun achievements to hunt down.
I have also been playing Figment (1) and Figment 2: Creed Valley. I started with Figment 2 but felt I missed some backstory so I hopped into Figment 1 to get that and then go forth to Figment 2. This is not required at all, but I felt I missed some parts of the story to understand the story as much as I wanted to.
Most exciting news of this week: Starfields got another delay. This somewhat sucks but it also gives me high hopes that it will be less buggy than Skyrim still is. While it has its charm, I don’t think it would be good to have that in another big Bethesda RPG.
Looking forward to playing: I’ll keep on going with Nomad Survivor, Figment 1 and 2 and I expect to dive into Masterplan Tycoon next week.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
