Eyes on the Week (31st October – 4th November)

Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I didn’t do anything special for Halloween but the November medals are live on TrueAchievements! That is what lead me to play 112th Seed. A fairly straightforward platformer that only requires you to complete the first 30 levels for the full completion of achievements. Next, I moved on to Adam’s Venture: Origins to earn a few more achievements towards my medals. Truthfully, I stopped playing near the end as I found one of the puzzles getting to me. Even though there is probably an extremely simple solution to my issue, I figured I should take a break and try again later. Finally, for my November release medal, I started the interactive game called Five Dates. I’ve only played just under an hour so far and it seems alright. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued as to how the game will progress. All week, every evening to be precise, I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight with Lewis. I finally managed to get back to iridescent I again which I’m super happy about, considering the number of sweaty killers we’ve been getting recently. I’m currently really enjoying running breakout, bond, botany knowledge, and we’ll make it to help out my team where I can.

Most exciting news of this week: Seeing that Resident Evil Re:Verse has finally made its way into the gaming world is great but sadly, after hearing and reading people’s opinions of it, seems the wait was pretty disappointing in the end and doesn’t hold up to many expectations.

Looking forward to playing: Dead by Daylight, Overwatch 2, Whispering Willows, White Day: A Labyrinth Called School, and Charon’s Staircase.

Holy shit I’m so busy! I don’t think I ever had a larger list of review games so all my free time is going into playing and writing. Most of my time went into a game I can’t talk about… sadly enough. Still, a lot of days before I can mention something about it. So what can I talk about? That’s the issue sometimes with review games, a lot of secrecy.

Most exciting news of this week: Twitter is an important part of LifeisXbox as our main community is following us. so I’m very curious and a bit nervous to see how Elon Musk is going to improve or fuck up Twitter.

Looking forward to playing: A game that creates extra time for me…

I was overwhelmed with work so I mostly played some short titles like Tanuki Sunrise (which I reviewed) and Shatter: Remastered (review coming soon). I continued A Plague Tale: Requiem but only made it through two more chapters and then I started playing Bayonetta 3 on the Switch. Which is rather underwhelming from what I remembered playing the first game, to be honest.

Most exciting news of this week: Musk taking over Twitter and the exodus of people like Nibel.

Looking forward to playing: The Chant, which just arrived. Really curious about this one as it has some creepy vibes.

This week I completed the Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose DLC. It’s a decent campaign clocking in at around 4 hours but also comes with RE:VERSE the online multiplayer component & Mercenaries mode. If you are unfamiliar with Mercs mode, it is essentially a time-based wave attack mode where you have to kill as many enemies as you can in that time limit. You get to play as the main villains from Village also which creates an interesting dynamic when fighting. On top of this, you also get access to 3rd person mode for the main campaign of Village if you prefer that over first-person.

Most exciting news of this week: Seeing more details from the Silent Hill announcement come to light including more enemy design sketches from Masahiro Ito.

Looking forward to playing: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 & finishing up the campaign.

I’ve played a bit of Overwatch 2 and some more Dead by Daylight this week, looking forward to the new killer arriving in Dead by Daylight in the coming weeks despite the fact I won’t be buying him yet. I also played Paper Ghost Stories: 7PM for an upcoming review, it was a pretty short, but still interesting game, you’ll find out more about it in my review.

Most exciting news of this week: A new Atomic Heart trailer was released, I’m looking forward to seeing more of it and playing it.

Looking forward to playing: More of The Past Within on the weekend for another upcoming review with a friend. Other than that I’ll likely play more Dead by Daylight, Overwatch 2, and maybe some GTA IV again.
