Eyes on the Week (30th September – 4th October)

It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I finished my first true playthrough of The Casting of Frank Stone on Monday. I managed to save all the females but sadly, the males did not make it out alive. I will be going back in an attempt to get all the miscellaneous achievements and the ones for everyone dying/staying alive. The one for unlocking all scenes will probably be left on a back burner for some time as I don’t have the storage to keep it installed right now – there are other games I would like to play!

I went back to episode 2 in Life is Strange 2 to get the four collectables I had missed but I won’t be continuing the story anytime soon.

As Chaos Shuffle will be removed on October 8th, me and Lewis have been playing quite a few rounds of Dead by Daylight in said mode. The matches have been of a mixed variety, with different killers and standards of play, but having a Leatherface play ‘Red Light, Green Light’ with us at the exit gate was definitely the highlight of our games.

Most interesting news of this week: Phasmophobia has finally appeared on the Xbox Store! But I will not rest until I see a price or pre-order available.

Looking forward to playing: Honestly? I have no plans but will be playing games for the TrueAchievements medals and Trick or Treat challenge.

I haven’t had a lot of time to play this week. My kid has been in the hospital since Tuesday and it’s driving me crazy. I only played Necro Story on my Xbox Series S upstairs, trying to get 100% achievements, but that’s it really.

Most interesting news of this week: more layoffs and closures, this time from media. I saw people getting fired from Dexerto and PLAY magazine closing, a mainstay in the print media since ages.

Looking forward to playing: I might just force myself to beat FF7 Rebirth when I’m no longer spending nights in the hospital.

I finished playing Mark of the Ninja: Remastered on Monday and I really liked it. I almost completed all missions without killing anyone.

I started playing The Eternal Cylinder and so far, it reminds me a lot of the creature stage on Spore, which I really liked playing.

I’m also playing We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie, which is exactly what I expected from it and I’m enjoying it quite a bit.

Most interesting news of this week: Tim Sweeney saying Epic Games is now financially sound after last year’s layoffs.

Looking forward to playing: More We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie and The Eternal Cylinder.

I have been playing a lot of Necro Story. It is as good as I hoped it would be. What an awesome RPG with a lot of humor. I love the creature collection, the mini-game during battles and so many secrets to find.

I have also been playing Arcane Arts: Sorcerer’s Quest. In my opinion, this is the best GameHouse game for veterans of their games. It is a good story and fun game, but you’ll visit all the other universes of their current series and it is so nice to see those main characters from a different perspective while still recognizing the levels you visit as well.

And I have also finished playing SherloCAT Holmes Nonogram. A nice nonogram/picross game. I love picross puzzles so this was a treat to be playing. You determine with a bunch of numbers which blocks need to be colored in and which don’t and then you get a picture at the end.

Most interesting news of this week: I haven’t heard much news this week, but I’m very hyped for Windblown releasing this month in Early Access.

Looking forward to playing: Europa, Hidden in my Paradise, and Amber Isle. So many amazing games releasing this upcoming week.

This week, all my gaming time has gone into playing Necro Story where you play as an evil-ish necromancer and set off on an epic adventure to save humanity, with plenty of laughs along the way. You can read my review [HERE]

Most interesting news of this week: As Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows add to a 54% Ubisoft stock drop, Tencent and the Guillemot brothers are reportedly considering a full buyout and have been speaking with advisers to help explore ways to stabilize Ubisoft and bolster its value.

Looking forward to playing: I want to play through Scorn before it leaves Xbox Games Pass in a few weeks and The Land Beneath Us, which is included in this weekend’s ‘Free Play Days’. I will also be continuing my second playthrough of Necro Story.
