Eyes on the Week (30th January – 3rd February)

Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

My entire week has been spent playing one game – A Space for the Unbound and my, what a wonderful game it has been. I haven’t had a video game make me cry in some time and I was happy to be reminded of how beautiful the feeling is. For a video game to hit me on such an emotional level was astonishing, to say the least. I’m currently writing my review for it so I don’t want to give too much away but this will definitely be a highly recommended title from me; be sure to keep an eye out for my review! Other than this, at the beginning of the week, I published my review for Dance of Death: Du Lac & Fey which can be read [HERE] if you have some free time.

Most exciting news of this week: Seeing Cruz Brothers get another title update, making the overall gamerscore sit at 6000G, was very unexpected. Also, more delays with games being released and the Xbox 360 marketplace being hit with multiple discontinued games starting from February 7th. Some will no longer be available entirely as there is no disc version so make sure you don’t miss out before they’re removed forever.

Looking forward to playing: I will be returning to A Space for the Unbound, starting Chained Echoes and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and might check out the new update for Powerwash Simulator with Lewis before he gets engrossed in Hogwarts Legacy when it releases.

Three interesting review projects, one of them is online! Dead Space was even better now, compared to the 2008 release. The two others… well, they’re still a secret. Magical stuff though, so be sure to keep an eye on LifeisXbox as you’ll want to read it. Also had a boardgames night with Azul, Keer op Keer and Bears vs Babies. I was so busy that I couldn’t even play Age of Empires, really looking forward to starting that one!

Most exciting news of this week: Nothing to report this week.

Had a sad week as I lost my grandfather on Monday. He was 91yo and we even went on a trip to Spain together last year. I really looked up to him and his positive outlook on life.

On that note, the positive things about this week were the games I played. Finally beat Pokémon Violet, you can read the [HERE]. And also covered Rhythm Sprout, a funny musical game that does more than a few things right; review [HERE]. And just yesterday, I installed the demo for Final Fantasy Theathrythm Final Bar Line and it made me very excited for the full game coming out later this month.

Most exciting news of this week: Xbox pulling games from the 360 store and PlayStation removing the “free” games from the PS+ lineup. The digital age does have some downsides…

Looking forward to playing: HiFi Rush and Final Fantasy Theathrythm.

Again, I was only able to play Risen for my next review this week, I’m feeling somewhat mixed about it for now, but I don’t think it’s a bad game at all, I’ll elaborate on my review.

Most exciting news of this week: Nothing gaming-wise, but I do have some bad personal news this week… My Xiaomi Redmi 9T decided to not turn on again after I selected the restart option on Monday, it seems like I have to wait a few days for its battery to drain so I can charge it and use it again 🙃 I didn’t find another solution so I’ll be trying this.

Looking forward to playing: More Risen, finishing Persona 5 Royal, and maybe playing something else as well.

Another week, another chance to report I’m still enthralled by Final Fantasy XIV, now onto the Endwalker expansion. I know I’m quite koi about speaking on story stuff, but that’s because it’s honestly amongst the best I’ve experienced in gaming, so I’d hate to spoil it for anyone.

What I can tell you about is that I bought one of the limited housing plots available in the game. In the Mist, which is the seaside location. The purchase alone left me close to financial ruin, yet I’ve managed to find some ways to make money selling, in a comedic turn of events, furniture to fund my own furnishing.

Besides that, I watched a lot of anime this week. I’m catching up on Spy x Family and my romantic comedy SNAFU.

Most exciting news of this week: I’ve not caught wind of anything worth sharing.

Looking forward to playing: Everspace 2 should be coming out of early access soon, so I might give that another go.
