It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

The First Descendant has taken over my life. It’s like playing Warframe from scratch again and I’m all for the gameplay and grinding elements. Me and Lewis are currently fighting our way through the main campaign, obtaining whatever we can along the way, but I think we’re closing in on the ending (can’t say for certain as I don’t want to search in case of any spoilers). There are a couple of Descendants who have taken my fancy with their abilities but I’ll probably farm for them once everything has been unlocked. I highly recommend trying it as it’s free to play!
I’ve also tried making progress with Yum Yum Cookstar but the perfect rounds are kicking my butt. I’m someone who won’t continue and progress until I have perfected what I already have unlocked which is my downfall but it’s rewarding when I do manage to get those scores 10/10 scores from the judges. It’s something I’ll keep chipping away at.
Most interesting news of this week: Sadly, the Xbox 360 store has closed. Most knew this was coming but it was still a sad day nonetheless.
Looking forward to playing: More The First Descendant, Yum Yum Cookstar and the 2V8 Mode in Dead by Daylight.

I got completely addicted to MTG: Arena again, doing 4 drafts online and with a VERY good win rate as usual. This new set (Bloomburrow) is so much fun to play with!
I also downloaded the Visions of Mana demo on Xbox and it seems like a fun JRPG for August that I’m keen on delving into. You can watch my playthrough of the demo [HERE] and here is a fun fact: watching anyones’ demo coverage helps in Square Enix’s effort into planting 25,000 trees!
Most interesting news of this week: Layoffs again 😞 Lots of people at Bungie but also 15,000! at Intel
Looking forward to playing: I’m repeating myself, but I should really beat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth…

I’m still playing the System Shock remake and I’m liking it quite a bit. It has an interesting story and I really like its gameplay.
I have finished playing Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery and it was a pretty silly game to play, in a good way.
Most interesting news of this week: Mafia Definitive Edition is being added to Xbox Game Pass.
Looking forward to playing: More System Shock and probably something else, but I am not sure what yet.

I have just finished Delicious – Mystery Mansion, another great title by GameHouse Games. The story felt a bit more crazy but the ending was good!
I have also played Dreamsweeper, a roguelike sweeper game. It is a fun game. However, one of the achievements seems bugged or the few players that are playing it haven’t figured out how to unlock it.
Last but not least, I have completed Wéko The Mask Gatherer. What an awesome game! Highly recommend checking this one out if you’re a fan of the old-school 3D Zelda games like Ocarina of Time.
Most interesting news of this week: Layoffs… but because I’m already feeling down thinking about it. I would like to mention that the Wholesome Games Steam Celebration ( August 15-21) was just announced a couple of days ago.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
