It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week, as I expected, has been all about one game and one game only – Phasmophobia! This was supposed to be a birthday present for me last year but I’ve been understanding and patient… So you can imagine my excitement when it popped up in the store! Me and Lewis have been going HARD with the ghost hunting! We’re still learning and will be for some time but, as it stands, we’ve had plenty of scares and laughter. It’s everything I hoped it would be and more! The developers and publishers have done an outstanding job bringing in to console so congratulations are in order!
Most interesting news of this week: The successful launch of Phasmophobia onto consoles. Also, I managed to win a giveaway for Dragon Age: The Veilguard! And Pokemon TCG Pocket has also made its way to mobile devices!
Looking forward to playing: Phasmophobia, duh.

I started the week playing Ascending Inferno on Steam, a very difficult game about kicking your way out of hell. Your brother is shaped like a soccer ball ⚽ making it hard to keep him from rolling back down. Feels great when you finally progress further though.
Still playing Slay the Princess every night, going for “one ending per day” and slowly inching towards 100% completion.
For people on the fence about The Plucky Squire, here is the first hour of the game recorded for you!
Contrary to that, I beat Purpose 1951 in a single sitting of 40 minutes played and had the full 1000G (and that’s the only good thing about the game 😅)
Most interesting news of this week: I heard 52% of Xbox Series S owners played Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and that’s crazy…
Looking forward to playing: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure.

This week I managed to get some time to play No More Room in Hell 2. It’s a far cry from the first one since it has now moved over to Unreal Engine 5. Graphically it’s very good, but it’s not without its issues. During my time with it, I’ve had numerous server issues which have impacted stability, and several occasions where the guns just don’t connect. I understand it has been released in early access and that is very important to keep in mind because you aren’t getting a full release here. However, the one map that you do get is quite repetitive.
I’ve also gone back to have a playthrough of the Deus Ex series and am now playing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It’s been one of my favourite games for many years, with an amazing soundtrack, great combat, and stealth gameplay. I highly recommend this series to anyone if you’ve never tried it.
Finally, I got to play through Aragami since it was on PS+ and finished it on Co-op with a friend in a single night. I enjoyed it so much so that I picked up Aragami 2 on Steam during the sale. A far superior sequel in every way and far, far longer than the first.
Oh! I almost forgot, I also managed to squeeze in my second playthrough of Silent Hill 2 Remake and utilise my save manipulation technique to unlock the other 5 endings I needed. The dog ending is funny, swapping out James’s broken Japanese for broken Polish. A nice nod to the original.
Most interesting news of this week: Indiana Jones running at 60fps? Let’s hope so!
Looking forward to playing: Aragami 2.

I’m still playing Persona 3 Reload and We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie but I also played some Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer. I want to play previous Call of Duty campaigns before playing this one.
Most interesting news of this week: Monster Hunter Wilds beta is up and Dragon Age: The Veilguard just released.
Looking forward to playing: More Persona 3 Reload, We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

I couldn’t write a piece last week so those are the games I played in the past 2 weeks:
I played the amazing platformer The Plucky Squire. It is so well made and was just so much fun! It feels a bit nostalgic while also fresh at the same time. I highly recommend this one.
I love shop-keeping games, and Alchemist: The Potion Monger is more about brewing potions, but also earning money so I it still scratched the shop-keeping itch. It has like 2 missable achievements and guess how many I missed… Yes, exactly those 2. Knowing how everything works, replaying the game till those parts of the story wasn’t too bad.
I like The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf, so I was hyped for The Smurfs 2 – The Prisoner of the Green Stone, as it combines a bit of the Ratchet & Clank gameplay style combined with The Smurfs theme, and I had a great time, but the bugs… I had so many crashes and bugs, especially more toward the end.
From the makers of Dead Cells comes Windblown. While I haven’t played that one yet, this game is awesome. So much fun to play solo or in multiplayer. And I love how smoothly the game lobby works so you easily start a game with strangers.
Most interesting news of this week: This isn’t the biggest news, but I still feel so sad about it, Studio Thunderhorse closed its doors. They made Flynn: Son of Crimson which is just such a great game and they were hard at work on their new game before they had to make the decision to close their studio.
Looking forward to playing: I think I might dive back into House Flipper this weekend, as I recently got the two DLCs I was still missing.

This week I’ve been playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and have been having lots of fun in all modes, the campaign is a brilliant espionage action-packed shooter and some missions remind me of the Hitman games. I’ve been having a blast in multiplayer too, I’ve played some zombies, but think I’ll enjoy it even more when playing with friends.
I’ve also been playing Aaero2, I made a new friend in matchmaking and we have been playing co-op which is so much fun, trying to get five stars on all tracks.
Another new game that’s taken up my gaming time is Zombie Survivors which I picked up, it’s a cool little auto-shooter. I completed it in under five hours, but for its very low price, was well worth it.
Most interesting news of this week: A Borderlands 2 player has finally beaten the game without being hit once, he said it took him 112 attempts, 9 months and over 800 hours to complete. This feat has been accomplished by no-hit pro HeyBlasty in what many of us would say is impossible.
Looking forward to playing: It’s double XP weekend on Black Ops 6 multiplayer so I’m looking forward to playing that, along with finishing the campaign. I’m also looking forward to playing Killer Clowns from Outer Space: The Game.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
