Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week I’ve played three games in my free time. Firstly, I tried 2URVIVE which is a game that requires you to fight of hordes of varying zombies to get objectives done while also obtaining improved gear along the way. Not a long game but I enjoyed it for what it was. Secondly, I took the humongous step into the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley and my oh my, is this a gem of a game that has made its way onto Xbox Games Pass! There is plenty of gameplay to accomplish. Whether you want to fish, cook, make friends with the residents, work on the main story quests, and much more – you’ll always have something to do! Certainly the magical relaxing game we all hoped for I believe. Finally, I started Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion which is quite a cute and rebellious title, also found on Xbox Games Pass.
Most exciting news of this week: It’s that time again for the new medals on TrueAchievements for October that have recently been announced. That and, although not news, seeing the new Dead Space Remake screenshots has made me even more anticipated for its release next year. Oh, and Scorn getting released a week EARLIER!
Looking forward to playing: JUSTICE SUCKS as a review title and (if I have the time) Disney Dreamlight Valley, Resident Evil 5, and Dead by Daylight. Plus more achievement hunting to keep my daily streak going.

Few games this week for me, I played Grounded the most. Simply adore this game and the insane looking visuals. So what else? I’ve played FIFA 23, Deathloop, Construction Simulator, Beacon Pines, and a couple more that I can’t recall right now. Beacon Pines was another highlight of the week, lovely game that doesn’t take too long to finish.
Most exciting news of this week: Something you’ll see on LifeisXbox next week. but it was confirmed to me this week by email 🙂
Looking forward to playing: More Grounded and FIFA 23. I’m hoping to play a match against Michael who’s doing FIFA’s review.

I didn’t play a lot, had some unfortunate events in the family and was busy with work. I mean, the game I played most was Paw Pawtrol the Movie, just for the daily MS Rewards… enough said 😄
Most exciting news of this week: We announced the Trifox Release date: coming to Switch on Oct 13 and Xbox/PC on Oct 14. PlayStation release date to follow. (FYI: I work as PR in the dayjob and this is one of the titles under my wing, obviously I won’t be covering it anywhere for that reason!)
Looking forward to playing: Stray! I heard a lot of great things about the cat-game and as soon as I find the time, I’ll be purrring and throwing over random objects!

I have been back into the world of VR this week finishing up Resident Evil 4 VR which is a completely rework of the original if you aren’t familiar. Apart from the world & bosses along with enemies all being the same, the game features full body IK which means you can actually walk around in theory if you had the right amount of space.
Inventory management is now a lot easy to manage as you literally pick up & manage your items from a physical case. On top of this we also have the ability to fire 2 weapons at a time! Yes that’s right, you can shotgun & pistol your way through hordes of enemies, although the kick back on the shotgun is pretty big doing it one handed.
I also got into a new game called Surv1v3. You will have to forgive the spelling, the devs were being creative & wanted it to stand out as HTC vive exclusive at the time. The game is now playable on all current headsets though and is pretty decent. The game is set around a zombie apocalypse, but the great thing here is that you and up to 3 more friends can all work together to overcome the undead, share resources & play through a pretty lengthy campaign together. It’s more realistic than the other zombie shooters available for VR with a strong emphasis on inventory management. There is no hoarding tons of items in this game and ammo is incredibly limited.
My final game I started playing this week was a review game called C.A.R.L. I can’t say too much at this stage but let’s me say this. The game is NOT what I expected and in a good way. I’ve actually had a lot of fun with it so fat so stay tuned for the review coming very soon.
Most exciting news of this week: The fridge is red finally has a steam release date. This indie game has been on my radar for a while & it looks straight up crazy. Imagine an SCP story so ridiculous, but at the same time super scary & unique.
Looking forward to playing: More VR games!!!

This week I played a bit of Dyna Bomb 2 and Cube Farmer both for upcoming short reviews as well as a mobile game called Necromerger.
Most exciting news of this week: A new FPS with a lot of destruction called The Finals dropped a new trailer this week and it’s looking pretty interesting.
Looking forward to playing: My next review game and if I have time, I’ll play GTA IV and Dead by Daylight.

This week my attention has been mostly split between three games. Batora: Lost Haven, which I wrote a preview for already. Final Fantasy XIV where I do all but further the main storyline. And Cyberpunk 2077, where I’ve been building up my street cred to chrome up like gonk with a deathwish.
Most exciting news of this week: I just read that Discord and Capcom are teaming up to bring anyone who streams Monster Hunter Rise to discord for 30 minutes a free layered set. Rarely has getting a special cosmetic been easier.
Looking forward to playing: I’m still really hooked on Cyberpunk 2077. I’ll make sure it doesn’t burn to brightly so it can burn longer.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
