It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve felt quite bleh over the past week so gaming hasn’t been something I’ve been enjoying as much recently. House Flipper has kept my attention though and I’ve managed to finish all the jobs in the Luxury and Pets DLC; I’m a little cautious about the Farm DLC but I’m sure I’ll start it over the weekend. I’ve been doing up houses to sell and I’ve enjoyed using different themes on them. There are plenty of miscellaneous achievements I’m missing but I’ll get around to them eventually.
I finally completed my thirty consecutive daily tidies on A Little to the Left. Now, I need to complete 100 daily tidies and earn any achievements I’ve missed – including an entirely new save to get my achievement for not using any hints.
I loaded up Mineko’s Night Market as I wanted to get the two remaining achievements. I managed to get all the NPCs to five hearts and now I need to find the final food item for the food museum so I’m hopeful I’ll finish this over the weekend. I just have to hope that RNG is on my side.
Most interesting news of this week: The Spring Sale is now live on Xbox so be sure you don’t miss out!
Looking forward to playing: I’m determined to play Deflector and Truck Driver: The American Dream but nothing else is planned right now.
Dae Jim
I finished Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake. I played the original a few years ago and this remaster still managed to find my emotional touch. It’s such a special experience and exciting to see the visual improvements. Another unique experience I started is Bulwark, a kind of city builder with lots of freedom. My review will be up next week!
Most interesting news of this week: Hellblade 2 previews are extremely positive.
Looking forward to playing: Botany Manor.

I made a little progress in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but this is going to be my default game for the better part of the year, slowly completing quests and finding new things. The world feels alive and there are secrets around every corner.
The biggest surprise this week was when I found out that there is a new Invector game. Avicii Invector is my favourite game ever so you can imagine my shock when I discovered it had been out on PC since July 2023 and on consoles since February this year. Invector Rhythm Galaxy gives us 40 new tracks to jam to and so far I love the majority of them. This is rhythm game heaven for me. I’m in love all over again! Check some gameplay here. I’ll make sure to write a review for LifeIsXbox when I’ve beaten the game. I also look forward to competing on the leaderboards again with Jim!
Most interesting news of this week: My tweet asking for indiegames to wishlist went semi-viral and kept me busy all day.
Looking forward to playing: More Invector & Dragon’s Dogma 2. I’m also looking forward to going to FACTS with my daughter this weekend.
Colombo
I’m still playing Cyberpunk 2077 extensively and should finish it and its DLC Phantom Liberty in the next few days.
I also played a bit of Brotato, and although I wasn’t able to finish a run yet, it’s been pretty fun.
Most interesting news of this week: Nothing comes to mind.
Looking forward to playing: Finishing Cyberpunk 2077, playing more Brotato and starting something else.
Genethical
Life keeps kicking my ass, but at least this week I managed to get some game time under my belt! As per usual, some more Guilty Gear Strive saw me improving the structure of my offence with Elphelt. I’d say I’m starting to approach a complete understanding of the character, and she has plenty of shortcomings in this patch.
For something completely different I had some time for a small game, and since it’s on sale, I ended up getting Kuukiyomi: Consider it, a charming Japanese game about being respectful in social situations. It’s not a long game, but it is enough to get a few laughs out of you and it has some secret interactions in most of its minigames which are fun to figure out.
Most interesting news of this week: Tekken 8 has gone full cash grab and has released a hitherto unannounced battle pass! The fanbase is up in arms as the game has some legitimate problems that need fixing, and this is what they see developer time being invested into. The rewards from the pass (premium or free) are very paltry on top of that, and it cannot be bought without spending way more than needed, as you can only buy 5 or 10 USD worth of premium coins for a pass costing 6 USD.
Looking forward to playing: I think it’s like three weeks now without Divinity: Original Sin 2? So yeah, some of that.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
