Eyes on the Week (18th – 22nd November)

It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Genshin Impact has been a breath of fresh air for me this past week and has given me something to sink time into once again which I’m incredibly thankful for, after struggling to find enjoyment in gaming again. I’m thoroughly enjoying Kaeya right now with the limited pool of characters I have and I’ve also got to Adventurer Rank 24 so I’m making good progress. The main questline itself is interesting, with plenty of exploration and side quests to get stuck into should I need a small break or to gather resources or upgrade materials. Thank you for bringing your beautiful game to Xbox, miHoYo and Cognosphere!

I also got back into Dead Cells with the wonderful addition of Assist Mode. No, I’m not afraid to say I’m using this because it has allowed me to make progress and added to my enjoyment factor; I’m not one for torturous video games. Oh, and Pokémon TCG Pocket still has me hooked on getting all the cards! I don’t think I’ll get my 45 wins by the November 28th though which I’m not too fussed about.

Most interesting news of this week: Unfortunately, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 didn’t have the best release for Xbox but fixes are inbound. Also, I’m preparing for Christmas early this year for a change! I hate all the last-minute rushing around.

Looking forward to playing: Genshin Impact.

An extremely busy workweek sending out multiple press releases every day, but I managed to get a little gaming in.

I played some more Wall Town Wonders and recorded my playthrough. It’s a cosy mixed-reality city builder from Belgium. Check it out.

I also beat Farewell North and may do a review for it if I can find the time 😊

But most of my time went onto the new Taiko No Tastujin on Xbox. I always lie to myself and say “1-3 songs per day” and then end up playing at least 10+.

Most interesting news of this week: Big Brotaru was fun, you can search for my thread on Twitter or Bluesky if you want to see the games that participated. Surreal Estate was my favourite one.

Looking forward to playing: Wildfrost on Nintendo Switch, now that my physical cartridge has arrived.

I haven’t played too much this week but I did receive my Limited Edition Hyrule Switch Lite in gold & The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. So far I’m about 4 hours in & I really love the art style.

It’s a mixture of classic Zelda mixed with 3D stylised visuals. It’s a cute mashup that allows you to spawn in via magic, many items found throughout Hyrule in order to defeat the rifts that have been swallowing people up. Link is missing, the king has been replaced by an imposter & it’s up to Zelda to save the kingdom.

Other than that, I managed to squeeze in the first hour of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. It’s okay. I’m not a fan of the English dialogue. It feels out of place, very much intended and recommended playing it in Ukrainian with subtitles.

Most interesting news of this week: December is right around the corner & I’m very much excited for my trip to Poland.

Looking forward to playing: More Echoes of Wisdom.

I started this week off with playing a bunch of Petit Island. What a lovely adventure game in which you recreated the memories of your grandpa on the island he grew up on.

Then I quickly played some Coffee Caravan to unlock the new achievements that got added with the new ice cream chapter. I still enjoy this game a lot and love the looks. Fulfilling orders is so addictive.

And last but not least, many hours this week went into Seer’s Gambit. This is such an addictive auto battler game that always gives you something to work toward.

Most interesting news of this week: Steam adding rules for selling season passes on Steam. I find it great news that they did this, altho gladly in the indie games I play you barely see any season passes and that is one of the many reasons why I like them so much.

Looking forward to playing: Neva & Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3.

This week I’ve been playing Metal Slug Tactics, you can read my review [HERE] I have also been playing The Callisto ProtocolMicrosoft Flight Simulator 2024 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Most interesting news of this week: Microsoft is starting to open up Xbox Cloud Gaming to existing Xbox game libraries. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now stream 50 games they already own, including Balatro, Baldur’s Gate 3, a variety of Final Fantasy titles, and Hogwarts Legacy with more to be added soon.

Looking forward to playing: More S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Amanda The Adventurer, the game I’m reviewing next.
