It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week I have been absolutely obsessed and addicted to the grind that is none other than Genshin Impact. Now I’ve completed Act V Part V (which I will proudly say brought tears to my eyes), I’ve decided to work on: character story quests, improving my Arlecchino, completing my dailies/weeklies and whatever else I get side tracked doing. Genshin certainly has a habit of making me wander off…
Most interesting news of this week: For me personally, I got asked for the first time if I wanted to review a game and this made me incredibly joyful; It’s nice to feel appreciated!
Looking forward to playing: Genshin Impact and perhaps continuing Life is Strange 2. Plus, a possible review game?

I’m playing Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on the switch and having some fun with it. But it’s pretty unforgiving with its checkpoints. Not that it’s a hard game, but I’ve been frustrated with collectables requiring you to play a perfect minigame or side-level and not getting a 2nd chance (or you have the restart the entire level) –> feels like old design. Still, looks good, plays great, will probably beat it and review it soon.
On PC I’ve been playing a ton of Steam Next Fest demos for upcoming games, like Ruffy and the Riverside, Tile Tales: Pirate, Mechanimals, Dunebound Tactics, Hungry Horrors, Pirates Outlaws 2, Lost in Random, Twisted Towers and many more.
On Xbox I’ve just beaten Mika and the Witch’s mountain, got pretty frustrated with how often it just closed down on me and I had to even redo big parts of the game. Will have a review out for it soon, but this obviously didn’t help the score. HERE is some of my early gameplay.
Most interesting news of this week: Forza Horizon 5 going to PS5. Never thought I’d see the day…
Looking forward to playing: Going to start High on Knife, the DLC for High on Life this weekend.

This week I’ve been playing through some of the games I’ve been collecting for Nintendo Switch. I’ve been battling through hordes of zombies in Lollipop Chainsaw, and taking to the Skies in Star Wars Republic Commando.
Both of these games are very action packed, fun, and come with the Super Rare Games trading cards and Limited Run bonus content.
I haven’t played much else but I do highly recommend picking these up and playing if you are a collector.
Most interesting news of this week: Sniper Elite Resistance launched on Xbox Game Pass.
Looking forward to playing: Sniper Elite Resistance.

This week I’ve played more Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Persona 3 Reload, but I also played a little bit of Brotato and started playing Inscryption on my Xbox thanks to a game pass rewards quest. I’ve already played through Inscryption on PC quite a while ago but I really enjoyed it, so I’ll play through the whole game again. I’m also replaying A Way Out with a friend, it’s as good as I remember it being, but some scenes somehow reminded me of fake mobile game ads.
Most interesting news of this week: Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection releasing on Xbox.
Looking forward to playing: More Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Persona 3 Reload, Inscryption and maybe get back to Balatro as well.

I have been playing more Keep Driving. After each ending, I quit the game, start it up very quickly, and play again to try for a different ending.
I have also played a bit of A Game About Digging A Hole. It is mostly busy work, but I just learned from a friend that the word “bore” means something like “dig a hole,” so making it a bit of a boring game seems fitting. I’m not having the best time because, as far as I heard on the Steam forum, the achievements seem not to work until you beat the game and then play a new game. I hope this is a bug, as I do not like that mechanic. Somehow, the game still is addictive, and I can’t even explain less how this is addictive while already having trouble justifying and explaining why I like idle/clicker games. I guess the reason is: numbers go up.
Most of my game time this week went into Tavern Manager Simulator, which I greatly enjoyed. It is surprising how a game has hooked me while not really having a story, but the mini-games are fun, getting more helpers in the form of fairies is very nice, and you’re always on the brink of finishing the next quests, which keeps you going.
Most interesting news of this week: The earning calls we’re seeing with Microsoft and EA. It is weird to see how the AAA space is trying to keep standing up but mostly with predatory acts like live services and loot boxes. Back in the day they were the ones to come up with new gameplay ideas, now you kinda mostly find that in the indie space.
Looking forward to playing: Slime Heroes, which launched last week.

Most of my time gaming this week has gone into Eternal Strands, a new action-adventure game. I had a couple of friends over, and we had some frantic and very close races on Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure split-screen, which was fun. You could go from last place to first in the blink of an eye or fall behind and struggle to catch up. I also started playing Basureroes: Invasion, a fun side-scrolling platformer.
Most interesting news of this week: The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct now has a time as well as a date: 6am PT on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. That’s 9am ET and 2pm UK time.
Looking forward to playing: Looking forward to playing more Eternal Strands and Apex Legends, which has a new season arriving early next week. I would also like to try Citizen Sleeper 2 if I have the time.
