2016 has one of the greatest beginnings of the year for gamers

2015 “The Greatest line-up in history for Xbox” a marketing tag that we saw multiple times. It was a good year that’s for sure but the greatest line-up wasn’t last year but this year. Only looking at the first four months for Xbox One shows that this year will be an incredible experience!

January

  • Resident Evil Zero (Remaster)
  • Life is Strange (limited edition)
  • Sébastian Loeb Rally EVO
  • The War of Mine
  • LEGO Marvel’s Avengers
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider DLC: Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch
  • Gone Home: Console Edition

From the coming first four months in 2016 january is the slowest, although Rise of the Tomb Raider fans can look out for the amazing looking Baba Yaga DLC. For people that didn’t buy Life is Strange yet or just prefer a retail copy this will be a no brainer.

February

  • Naruto Shippudon: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
  • Alekhine’s Gun
  • Arslan: The Warriors of Legend
  • Far Cry Primal
  • Plants versus Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
  • Rocket League
  • Walking Dead: Michonne
  • Cobalt

Finally the month when indie sensation Rocket League will be available for Xbox One. I don’t think it will reach that much hype like when it releases on PS4 but I’m looking forward for it nonetheless. Cobalt, the console exclusive new game from Oxeye studio and Mojangwill finally release too after some delays. But the biggest release for february is Far cry Primal, but we shouldn’t underestimate Garden Warfare 2 and Alekhine’s Gun.

March

  • The Division
  • Hitman
  • Lichdom: Battlemage
  • Killer Instinct Season 3
  • Tropico 5
  • The Banner Sage 2
  • Unravel
  • The Solus Project
  • AER
  • Indivisible

Busy month with some high profile releases like The Division, with exclusive Xbox content and Hitman. Fighting fans can look forward for the newest season for Killer Instinct and indie game fanatics have multiple games to look forward too

April

  • Quantum Break
  • Assetto Corsa
  • Mafia 3
  • Dark Souls 3
  • Dirt Rally

The biggest release in the first few months on Xbox One is Quantum Break, Remedy’s newest game. What we have seen so far looks stunning and I can’t wait to experience the game. Racing fans can look forward for Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa.

Something unannounced?

While the first months are busy as it is, the chance that we get a few surprises is pretty high. Phil Spencer already confirmed that they have a few secret unannounced exclusives for 2016 so anything is possible. Fable Legends for example, Halo 5 (free) DLC and ID@Xbox games.
